SA:On the Road:Festivals ’14:Q-stock

Friday 25.7.2014-Q-stock, Oulu, Finland
The second of the quick ones close to home. This time I went by car with my family since Oulu is only a 120km from where we live. I got there roughly a couple of hours before the show and tried to eat and drink as much as possible since it was really hot as hell at the festival. Once we got the show going it wasn’t too much of a deal and of course playing in front of a sold out festival always gives you the energy you need to plow through a 60min set….which felt far too short. We had pyros for this show, as we will have on the last Finnish show in Pori as well. Pretty much directly after the show I grabbed my stuff, a few sodas and jumped in the car and rode home. Not too much of an adventure this time but I’m sure there’ll be a lot more to write about next weekend when we leave for the Czech Republic and Ostrava. Let’s see how much bitching I’ll do about airports and flights this time ;-) Until then…

cheers,

Henkka

  1. Hehe... You know that if you land in Düsseldorf you just need to holler and I'll be there to help, right? Think I already said that somewhere...
But otherwise, seems like the Finnish festivals are all pretty easy for you and this time no in-ear problems, yays for that!

How is Ecliptica coming along? All done or will you still be busy until you leave for America?

    Cheers!
    Maria

    1. At the moment we're starting to mix the Ecliptica thing so it should be out during this fall ;-) It's coming along according to schedule so no worries...yet...

  2. I had been wondering since it's been so damn hot! How do you guys handle the heat on stage? Do you ever feel sick or something because of it, or once you're "in the zone" you don't feel it anymore?

    1. There's really no other way than just go for it. Sometimes the heat (or the cold) is bothering you and sometimes not.Usually you don't feel sick until afterwards, the adrenaline takes care of a lot during the show ;-)

  3. Can't wait to see you in Ostrava :) Do you have any idea if there'll be signing session or something like that? I hope you will play a lot from the new album :)

    1. I have no clue but someone commented in a previous post that there will be a signing session so...go figure. If there is one scheduled we'll of course do it !

    2. I hope there will be, I was at HIM show on Saturday, organizators promised signing session and then nothing, so I don't know :D I really hope there will be one, I would love to see you again :)

    3. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Lucie :) Is your mother already preparing the cake? :D

Henkka, do you really not know about stuff like that beforehand or should we just always be careful what promoters say unless we get official news from you? When I read about that "meet & greet" on Facebook my first thought was "The cake is a lie, it's a trap." :-/

    4. Sometimes we know in advance and sometimes not. Doesn't really matter that much to me, if there's something set up we'll do it.I just got the itinenary for the weekend and there is a scheduled signing session @ the festival as released by the organizers, so I'll see some of you there then.

  6. Thank you, sorry about that. :) When I have anxious dreams like that it's hard to tell what's true and what isn't....

  7. Hi, the show in Ostrava was awesome. You guys were awesome! (except Mr. Elias who was standing always between us and you (but I have to to apologise to him, it wasn't something personal when I wanted him to move away to see you sing that part I Don't say a word))
And is Tommy's hand okay? I saw he bleeded a bit... :/
So one more time thank you guys for awesome show and night. See you next time :)

  8. Tommy's hand was quite fucked up but I think it ok now, not the easiest job to be the drummer ;-)

    2. Oh god, I heard a rumor that he was bleeding but I asked others who were there and they said that nope, as far as they could tell Tommy was okay and enjoying the W.A.S.P. show after your set.
What happened? Please tell him to take better care of himself! First the eye, now this... And I thought I was a klutz :D
