Bottle Message15.8.2014

SA: At the moment we’ve finished the re-recording of Ecliptica and it should be out during this fall…in couple of months would be my guess. Our book (unfortunately only in Finnish for the moment) will be out at the end of September. Other than that we’re about to embark on our North-American leg of the Pariah’s Child World Tour, which will be a long one, lasting 7 weeks during which we’ll play 34 shows (if I didn’t count them wrong).

SV: Made a music video from one of the songs of ’Reveal the Change’ which is currently being finished so it should be out any day now. We’re also recording some stuff and will probably put it out within the next few months (not a full lenght album though). We’re also constantly working on getting some club dates in our calendar but it’s a bit tricky at the moment…once again due to the SA touring schedule.

WB:…album still in the making and I’m basically just playing keys to songs as I get them so…just wanted you to know that it’s still happening…

…also I played a solo on this: Etherna: Forgotten Beholder (etherna.net) , a friend of mine Alex from Vision Divine & Labyrith asked me to do it so why not ;-) Cool album with some good song on it…check it out !!!

KS:..the 2nd solo album is still under construction, just sent the songs to our drummer so he can check ’em out. I’d guess this will see the light of day next spring because of the hectic SA touring schedule.

So that’s about it regarding what’s goin on right now. I’ll post updates of individual things as they happend and of course next up will be posts from the SA tour in North-America….maybe even with pictures…

see you on the road !

cheers,

Henkka

  1. Ecliptica will be released on 24th October, to be precise... At least that's what the Nuclear Blast webshop says :-)

Yays, it's great to hear there's more awesome music coming. And I'll definitely check out Etherna. I checked out Stam1na, and I have to say I really like them, and I somehow got the feeling that you can't do anything I won't like... Almost thinking about checking out Insomnium in Cologne in November, cause Stam1na will be there as support, lol.

New Winterborn stuff is also a big friggin' YAY, and KS #2 will be another instabuy :-) Seems like 2015 is finally gonna be a good year again.
Thanks for giving me so much to look forward to, the shadows of 2013 are slowly leaving my bones ;-)

Take care! (And that's not just a standard greeting thing to me, I mean it)

    1. Thanks for the info about the release date !! It's probably gonna come out a couple of days earlier in Japan....Whoever finds that date first...hmmm...better not make any promises.....

    2. I highly recommend both Stam1na and Insomnium! Especially since it's not so usual for Stam1na to play outside of Finland!

    3. Oooohhh, if it's me, can I get to invite you to a beer or whatever-beverage-you-want the next time you're in Cologne, Bochum or maybe even Düsseldorf? :-)
And lol, promises... You kept promising sauna photos and we're still waiting for them ;-)

    4. PS: If I read that right, Ecliptica will be released in Japan on 22 October. Source: http://www.marquee.co.jp/avalon/index.html
      What's my price now? :-D

    5. Is the sauna photo obsession something that I started back in 2007 during the Unia recording when I hinted about the possibility of some sauna photos btw ???

    6. Ummm... Could be. Sorry for mentioning it. Won't happen again.
And here I was feeling all proud about my detective skills :-/ I even found out the US release date, but I'll keep quiet now.
But hey, I'm really happy about the news with I'm Haunted :-) Hope Friend Till The End will be somewhere on the "demos that will get rerecorded" list.

    7. Btw, I'm about 7/8 sure it was mentioned prominently amongst the end of the SGHN tour blog ;-)

    8. Yep, I recall that too :p But it was also mentioned that you would not do that after all. Something with "who would want to see a bunch of sweaty naked men?"

Something else: on the Sonata website, at the band tab it says for every band member: "No description, yet. It'll be available soon." It's been like that for a couple of months now, so I began to wonder when "soon" is; is that something like we already wrote something for that but someone forgot to put that up the website, or more like a it will likely be up there before the end of mankind but also it might be not?

Anyway, I would like to thank you for writing this blog. It makes me happy to read it. Also thank you for making good music. I thought Pariah's Child is very awesome and beautiful and nice and emotional and sweet and good and fantastic and lovely. Also I think you should tell Tony that he should write more for you to sing on the next album, because you sounded awesome on the concert. You two sound good together.
I wish you all the best on your next tour (and all the ones after that (and also when you are not on tour)). Have a great time :)

    9. The profiles yeah...we'll try to get 'em done during this tour, we were supposed to do those a long time ago but our summer was super busy with the re-recording of Ecliptica and the shows etc so.... soon will be before Christmas...don't know which year though ;-)

    10. Aw yes, I was wondering about those, too... Loved reading the old ones. I'm sure you'll come up with something funny and awesome again, whenever you find the time, next year or the year after that... ;-)

On a different note, I'm happy that the gallery got filled up a bit more again. Made me a bit sad when all that stuff was just gone. And Tony's tattoos are back, yay! :-)

  2. Dude. Etherna's new singer is also the singer of Opening Scenery, whose keyboardist is a friend of mine! They've even played in Finland, just to make everything even more confusing. LOL. Italian bands are even more incestuous than Finnish ones ;)

I'll definitely grab the album as soon as my boss remembers to, y'know, pay me....

  4. Hi Henkka. is it true? Did you re-record the old Tricky Beans song "I'm Haunted" for the JAP release of Ecliptica Revisited?

    Cheers!

    1. Yes that is true, we did re-record the old TB demo song as the Japan Bonus track...and we also finally found a place for our I can't dance-cover which will be the bonus track everywhere....

    2. Hi Henkka! I was wondering, the I Can't Dance cover you are using is the same version you recorded back then or you re-recorded it with this line up? I mean, are we going to hear Make playing one last time? <3

      Delete
    3. It's the "old" version but Pasi played the bass tracks again and also re-mixed it so...no Make.

  5. See you in Seattle. I have several presents for you as I couldn't do the Rock Radio Cruise in order to give them to you :)

  6. It's gotten quite quiet here :-)
As no one's been asking for it for a while, I dare to ask again...
Any news on possible tour documentaries from the 15th anniversary/Pariah's Child tour? You said that Tony was filming or something... or is that all for yet another surprise this year? :-)

Hope the preparations for the North American tour are all running smoothly and you'll have a good time over there.

    Cheers and take care!

  7. Tony's usually filming all kinds of stuff, at the moment the documentaries ended in Colombia 2013 as far as I remember so there's probably a whole bunch of stuff in the vault waiting to be edited and put out....let's see if he ever finds the time ;-)

  8. Hey Henkka! Third attempt at making this post > <
I'm curious about the instrumentation for "My Land" and "Replica" in the new Ecliptica. I wonder if it's more simmilar to the 1999 versions, or the 2006 versions. "My Land 2006" had some interesting vocal work at the chorus, and there was a new keyboard solo after the second chorus, but then it never got played live... so I'm really curious! Or are you not allowed to say?

    1. They are a lot closer to the 1999 versions, and the keyboard solo in My Land is gone, I forgot about that actually....maybe I should start to play it live some time...

    2. You should! It was a pretty awesome solo. Very Henkka-ish if you know what I mean. Anyway, see u at some gig later in time (:
Thx for the 15th Aniversary Show in México. It was a blast.
